But I was required to take a DOT physical and drug test in day one when I got my CDL back in 2018. It says they do in the paper work but when I took my dot physical before starting school I did not get drug tested. Pushing the clutch in before putting it into gear may make for a more forgiving shift if your timing is off a little bit but has no advantage if your timing is right. And service failures do not go against your driving record or your MVR. They are just an innercompany measurement of your performance as an effective or ineffective driver. With loads going about 3 to 6 hundred miles on average. Reefer dose have more stops on it but we get paid stop pay. My loads average about 1000+ miles. For those who are not aware of this, if you take your driving test for your CDL in an automatic you will have a restriction on your CDL that says you can only drive automatics.
